Overcome Fear
We all know what it is like to be afraid, hesitant, and unsure in our lives. Worried about outcomes or afraid of the past, it can be everywhere we look. Yet it is not real, it is not a true factor in our lives. We give it so much meaning and power. Fear is really a belief that we will fail, that something will go wrong. It is looking ahead without freedom from your past. It is seeing your life through eyes of pain, leading you to need protection from your own life. Fear is a basic trait learned, unfortunately, at an early age. When we should have been learning from our mistakes we were learning to be afraid of making them again.
As opposed to seeing something as happening once we see it as happening again many times, over and over in almost the exact same way. Why? Why enforce something that has no real meaning, but only hinders us? Why place fear above happiness? For without it we give ourselves a chance of finding happiness. I’ll tell you why. Fear comes from the belief that what has happened will come again, like we are tied to a cart dragging fear and worry everywhere we go.
Fear is the belief that life is unchanging. That we cannot grow and develop, that all will always stay the same. If this were the case wouldn’t we be better suited to turn around and only look at our past? How’s the view? Is it worth reliving? Do you fear it could get worse? Or do you fear something recurring? Either way you look at it, it is all tied to your past one way or another. Do you wish to exist tied to your fears? Do you know life is not a cycle? Sometimes we perpetrate it as such by pulling our past along with us everywhere we go. We look for clues of something being the same, something to fill our fear with. We wedge it in so we can say “told you so” to ourselves. Does it feel better to be “right”? Now we can add it to our cart and carry on. Instead disable that cart, break a wheel, unhinge the axle, and break the chain that you hold onto.
The past does not recreate itself, you do. When you look from a place of fear you can recreate anything. But it is not real; it is a shallow recurrence, only seen as such by your choice. Were you to look at life free of fear you would see the reality of it, that it exists in a totally different way. Life doesn’t go in circles but if you keep looking behind you, you may walk in one.
