2. Ask your wholesaler to carry specific products if they don’t already have them. They are always looking to increase their profits, and your suggestions will help them and help you. They may not be able to cooperate if you are looking for down pillows and they primarily stock electronics, but you can always ask.
3. You may also be able to negotiate payment terms to your advantage. Rather than paying in advance or on delivery, ask for 10 – 30 days for paying. This is not uncommon in business and if your demonstrate that you are reliable, you may be successful in getting better terms.
If your business really takes off you may eventually get to the point of buying direct from the manufacturer for even bigger discounts, but working with wholesalers is a great way to start.
