Euromillions ticket is still waiting to be claimed
The search is on to find a lucky lotto player in Plymouth who could be sitting on a life-changing pile of cash.
The hunt has begun to find the holder of a ?1million unclaimed lottery ticket bought in the city last month.
The golden winning ticket was purchased for the EuroMillions draw on Friday January 28.
“We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life,” said a spokesman for the National Lottery.
“We’re urging everyone to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.”
For every EuroMillions line, players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle selection printed on their ticket.
The winning selection on January 28 was KKC651655 and the clock is now ticking for the winner to come forward.
They have until 5.30pm on Wednesday July 27 this year to make their bank-busting claim.
The exact location of where the ticket was bought is being kept under wraps in case the lucky winner wants to remain anonymous when they claim their big prize.
Local lottery players are now being encouraged to dig out their recent tickets and check to see if they have bagged a bumper cash prize.
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa,” said the spokesman.
“We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
If the ticket remains unclaimed then the cash – plus the interest generated – will be added to the Good Causes scheme which provides grants across the arts, sport, heritage, health, education and environment.
If you believe you have the winning ticket, call the National Lottery on 0845 9100000.
Many euromillions tickets go unclaimed as people either lose their ticket, but more commonly, forget to check their ticket. And most people still do not realise they need to check the euromillions millionaire raffle numbers as well as the main 5 numbers and lucky stars.
There are ways around this sort of problem, you can play your tickets by direct debit at the national lottery website, or you can play with a third party website, such as a euromillions syndicate website, where they place all your tickets automatically and check all your tickets for you.
