Father’s day gift
Father’s day is coming soon, I’m already stressing about what to buy for my dad. He isn’t very fussy about what he receives but I like to make sure I express my love for him through the gift. I lost my mum when I was young to long term illness, so my dad is all I have left.
I have been saving for his gift for over a year now, so I intend to buy something really big. This year I have decided to be different with the gift, it won’t be sentimental but instead it will be the complete opposite.
Last year my dad hit the passenger side door of his car on a bollard, which left a massive dent on the door. He changed the door with one that had a few scratches and small dents but didn’t find the same colour, so he has been driving around his Toyota in Northern Ireland with a different colour door.
Past few weeks I have been visiting my local scrap yards to find the same colour door but so far I haven’t had any luck. With time running out, I have had to think of another way to sort the door out. I found a perfect door, with no scratches or dents on it, so I will get that sprayed the same colour.
The night before father’s day, I will take his car to my local garage to change the door but leave it there over night. On the morning of father’s day the mechanic, who is also one of my dad’s closest friends, will drop it off while he is still sleeping.
