Getting Better With Natural Health
Maybe you just don’t feel right. You’re probably trying to tell yourself that you aren’t really sick but you probably know, deep down, that the flu has already set in. Instead of reaching for the medicine cabinet handle, look around your house-you probably have all sorts of natural health remedies in your possession already. Natural health remedies are a great alternative to the “traditional” medications that you can buy at the store. While you don’t want to blow off instructions from a doctor, why not try out natural health methods for a few days before you schedule your doctor’s appointment?
Peppers can help in more ways than one. If you want to infuse your diet with vitamin C an easy way to do that is to eat some bell peppers with each meal. Cayenne pepper is another ingredient that is great for colds, flues and your sinuses. Add some cayenne pepper to your tea to help stimulate and relax your sinuses so that you can breathe easier. Another reason to “take” cayenne pepper when you are sick is that it will cause you to sweat which will help you heal.
Garlic is a famous system detoxifier. If you want to get better fast, take 500 mgs of garlic thrice daily when you have a cold so that the garlic can really do its job. 500 mgs of garlic is about the same as a clove of garlic. If you don’t want to take a tablet to get your 500mgs, just include a clove of garlic into each meal you cook. Garlic is readily available; you can by clove flowers of garlic at the store for low prices or a bottle of the spice pretty inexpensively. Don’t spend more than five days taking in so much garlic. You should consult your doctor if you are still very sick after five days.
Use steam! Hot baths and showers can be even more helpful than over the counter sinus drugs. The inhaled steam will loosen up your sinuses which make it easier for you to breathe. The water used to produce the steam will be hot which will help your muscles relax and help you get the rest you need to heal. If you aren’t up for taking a full shower or bath, inhale some steam from a pot of steaming water by leaning over the face of the pot and putting a towel over your head. The steam is directed toward your face by the sides of the towel which also help keep the water from cooling too quickly. Steam aids in the productivity of blowing your nose because it relaxes the sinuses’ hold on the discharge they contain. Natural health remedies are great methods of fighting the flu and the common cold. Are you sure you want to toss back over the counter medication when there are healthier and simpler remedies available? There is more to life than decongestant and antihistamines when you get sick: your bottle of water can heal you just as quickly. Don’t forget to give yourself permission to rest up otherwise nothing you do will help you get better.
