How To Avoid Credit Card Fees

1. Do not exceed your credit limit. It is almost obvious, and yet some people do not realize that can happen because it is a “limit” after all. In anticipation of purchases (not instant), recurrent expenditures, interest charges and collection can have a card “over the limit.” In other words, the rates over time, if you are losing your money without good reason (besides being annoying.) Better keep a running total in a notebook or something.
2. Do not miss the due date of payment. This is also a waste of money and usually completely avoidable. Don not Even if you have enough cash to a minimum, there are things you can do:
A) make a balance transfer to another minimum card payment. This counts as a bill payment.
B) buy something with the card (or other card) bought with the money anyway, and use the money to pay the bill (if available credit.)
C) as an alternative for emergency, you can get the “cash out” equal to the amount of your minimum payment and use it to pay the bill (do not exceed the limit of course.) A little ridiculous, but new money will probably be less than a late fee. Think ahead next month!
D) call your card provider and request an extension. I’ve never had to do because of the methods I use, so I do not really know about it sorry.
3. Never attempt to “collect” cash(except in c above). Besides the fact that interest on cash is much more than shopping, there is a lump sum of costs on top (about 2.3% + a small fee.) With so few places these days do not have cards credit for purchases, a lot of extra money is rarely necessary. Of course it is good to have a few “petty cash” put aside for these places, as some butchers, vegetable shops, vendors, cafes, public transport etc. The only time it should be necessary to make money using these methods is if it falls short of that error. Calculating the amount of petty cash you need at your fingertips, if this happens, you can do these things:
A) go to a place where credit is accepted.
B) go out and opt for balance transfer immediately to another card (remember to include the cost of cash fares apply to first.) At least you will not pay interest rates. (But be careful with the handling fee).
C) if you are near a payday, get the money to pay first, when they are paid before other bills to avoid high interest rates.
