Epic Pictures Group and KRU Studios moving full steam ahead

San Diego, CA – Epic Pictures and Malaysian-based KRU Studios previously announced partnership to produce a series of big-budget action films is moving full steam ahead.
Epic is showing 4 minutes of brand-new footage from THE MALAY CHRONICLES: BLOODLINES, the six million dollar epic adventure filled with massive battle scenes and cuting edge visual effects.
THE MALAY CHRONICLES: BLOODLINES, takes place in 120 A.D. Merong, a descendant of Alexander the Great, is asked to escort a Roman prince to Southeast Asia to meet and wed a beautiful Chines princess. However, the pirate nation of Geruda has other plans and kidnaps the princess to use her as randsom.
Patrick Ewald States: “We will be giving buyers a sneak peek of brand new footage that I know will blow people away. The level of visual effects, stunts, production design, and general look of the production is something that would normally see in a studio-level action film.”
Pre-Cannes, sales have already closed with France (F.I.P), Germany (Elite Film), UK (Metrodome), CIS (Daro), China (H.G.C.), Middle East (Phars Film) with deals underway in Former Yugoslavia, Turkey and Israel.
Epic and KRU will also be discussing their six picture action slate of 3D stereoscopic films, the first of which is the previously annoucned, VIKINGDOM, a 15 million dollar action-adventure which will have the visual look of 300 and SIN CITY. VIKINGDOM will be shot entirely on a digital soundstage with live actors and will be directed by Yusry A. Halim who helmed THE MALAY CHRONICLES. Production on VIKINGDOM will begin in January 2011. Epic will be giving select buyers an early preview of the script which is currently undergoing casting.
