Samsung has been making some really cool phones for a while, their latest phone Samsung SCHu740 is another addition to the cool line of phones that Samsung are currently producing. The Samsung SCHu740 looks just like a standard clamshell phone; it is slim and opens in the standard way. But when you flip this phone it reveals a full QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard is soft and has good feedback; you will know when a key has been pressed. The keys have been softly backlit and this makes it easier to type in dark lighting conditions. This design is very original and it allows you to use this device in landscape or in portrait mode. Samsung SCHu740 has an external 1.1 inch display; it is a cool and helpful addition to the phone. First because it looks really cool and secondly because this external screen make it easy to use the phone. You don’t have to open the phone to look at the time and the date. It shows you the signal strength. You don’t have to open the phone to know who is calling you, just look at the external display and decide if you want to answer the call or not. This phone just weighs 3.6 ounces and is so slim that you can put it comfortably in your tightest jeans.
This music player of this device is very cool, you don’t want to open the phone and press pause, play, forward, backward, skip etc. so Samsung has giving external controls, and what is even better is that these touch controls are touch sensitive. These external touch controls make it very easy for you to play and stop/pause the music, skip a track etc. The memory can be expanded via micro SD card if you need more space for music, videos, photos and documents. Samsung SCHu740 has a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash. Don’t expect much photography from it because you cannot capture much detail in 1.3 megapixel camera. The external display is very shiny so you can use it for self-portraits or as a mirror. The camera has 10x digital zoom but don’t go there, the image quality at that level of zoom is horrible. The video recording capabilities are not much either. It also has Bluetooth wireless technology built-in which allows you to use wireless headsets, sync your phone wirelessly with your computer to backup calendars, photos and contacts and transfer music and photos from some other phone.
