Taj Mahotsav, didn’t Lead Expectations this Year

Recently a 10-day festival, Taj Mahotsav was held in Agra, which according to tourism industry was a drawback for the local tourism. The fest did not lead to the expectation as it was thought to be.

The annual event is held at Shilpgram, few meters way from Taj Mahal. The fest comprises of cultural and heritage items, which were not given the pride of place according to the expertise of tourism industry.

People from worldwide tour to Agra to see the mesmerizing beauty of Taj Mahal in the city, moreover, in the month of Feb the craze seem to be much more higher due to the Taj Mahotsav. But the visitors were completely disappointed with the festivals, and blamed the poor promotional efforts and shoddy planning.

Various artists from the bollywood city performed in the event, however, the main draw were the shows by Sunidhi Chauhan, Richa Sharma, Shubha Mudgal and great vocalist K.K who performed at the ending day. In addition, the visitors were nagged with the arrangements of the organizers, as they have to pay Rs. 50 for parking as well the food items were also costly, like the most needed element i.e. water, was costing Rs. 30/ bottle.

Artists from all across the country display their talents in front of the thousands of visitors with the motive of telling the real culture and tradition of the country, especially to the international travelers.

However, the charges were rejected by the Officials of Uttar Pradesh, according to them, prior to the event several discussions were held regarding the theme of festivals. They believe that the Taj Festival is done in order to boost tourism in Agra and the event was a great hit.

But as we know different people have different perceptions and not everybody agrees to the fact that the show was a hit, some believes that there was lack of Heritage in the festival. However, tour to Taj Mahal was amazing as usual.

Where on one hand the elderly people were disappointed by the fest, thereby on the other hand the youngsters were amazed by the trip and really enjoyed with their friends. As told by some of the young visitors, this was a great opportunity for them to spend some freaking time with their mates and they enjoyed the delicious food items offered in the stalls of the function.

More than four million of tourists’ tour to Taj Mahal in Agra, and return back to Delhi, thus, Agra is merely an excursion site and not a destination for tourists, however, such events may boost it up as a destination in the coming time.
