What Happens While You Should To Compose A Claim On Your Protection Policy

In the event of someone wishing to make a claim under a life insurance policy, they would either need to contact the insurance company direct or possibly contract the broker who arranged the policy in the first place. The claimant needs to be the policy holder and would be required to fill in a claim form. The claim form would need to be returned direct to the insurance provider. They would also require confirmation of date of birth and a copy of the death certificate, normally this would be sufficient to enable them to make payment for a claim. Some life insurance contracts would include a benefit called terminal illness. This would normally mean that if the life assured was diagnosed with a terminal illness within the last eighteen months of the contract that they may be eligible to claim. Effectively this means they would need to be medically certificated that they were going to die in the next eighteen months. Normally for this type of claim the insurance company would wish to seek opinion either form their g or consultant in writing, prior to consideration of a claim.

There are some companies that may extend terminal illness to the last day of the term of the contract but this is quite rare and would need to be clarified with the insurance company direct. If your life insurance also had the benefit of critical illness insurance then it may be possible to make a claim on either. Most critical illness policies will cover approximately thirty illness plus but the potential claim would normally be assessed on the severity of the condition providing it was named one of the conditions within the policy. The other possible claim mite be if the additional benefit of waiver of premium was included in the original policy. This would normally allow somebody after six months if they were unable to return to work due to medical reasons, it may be possible for the premium to be waived either until they return to work or possible to the end of the term of the policy.

Dementia is becoming a more and more progressive disease within elderly people and Alzheimer’s Disease is one of the most common illnesses. Anyone suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease will be unsure how progressive the actual condition will be. The illness affects everyone slightly different but one thing for certain is that life expectancy is unknown. Alzheimer’s Disease can make things very difficult for the person who is suffering, for example friends and family will become very concerned as to how they will cope on their own if they live in their own house as it could be very difficult to tell how quickly someone’s condition is deteriorating. There are many things that can be put in place to ensure the safety of a loved one as it would be your prime concern that you’re relative or friend was safe and was capable of looking after themselves. One option may be to consider is going into care where someone can look after them as there are many side effects when someone condition is progressively getting worse and that may be incontinence. If the sufferer is aware of what is going on maybe it can be very frustrating and embarrassing, and if it is a loved one who is caring for them then it could become very stressful seeing someone go though the pain of such illness. Eventually it will get to a stage where they become very frail and would not be able to look after themselves, whether it is because they forget to turn the oven off or may not be able to get out of bed. Another side effect of Alzheimer’s Disease is the loss of memory, which again can be very stressful for the patient. The scientific reasoning behind such a disease is a shortage of chemicals which help in the transmission of messages to the brain. As Alzheimer’s Disease is listed as one of the critical illness under an insurance plan, if you were to suffer from such an illness, you would be able to make a claim and if successful you may then be able to use the money to pay for a care home to help you with your daily living.
