You are the domain administrator for City Power & Light, as presented in . City Power & Light has a single Active Directory domain named cpandl.com. Currently the domain has eight OUs. Table 7-10 describes the company’s OUs.
The Operations OU has two administrators. The North, South, and East OUs have one administrator each. You are one of two domain administrators. Your manager, Dragan Tomic, is the other network administrator. Dragan has called a meeting of all the administrators to discuss a variety of issues.
Given the above information, answer the following questions:
1. Many of the users from the Contractors OU travel to the other locations and utilize different computers. They’ve complained that their desktops look different when they move from location to location. What can be done about this?
2. Many of the users from the Contractors OU say they would like a central location ?where they can store and share documents. They want to be able to access that location from anywhere on the network. What solutions can you offer?
3. During a recent password audit, several user accounts were discovered using simple passwords, such as “password” or a password that was identical to the user name. How can you prevent this in the future, domain wide?
4. One of the network administrators says that you should do mcse 2008 exam away with passwords altogether and implement smart cards. What are the requirements of using smart cards for authentication?
8.Unplug the network cable from the network card of Serverl. This will prevent the systems from replicating. You are simulating a replication delay by doing this.
9.On Serverl, create three new user accounts inside the Administration OU. The names and passwords of these user accounts are not really important. You can
name them Testl, Test2, and Test3 or whatever you like.
10. Return to Server2.
Ensure that the Active Directory Users And Computers console of Server2 is still pointed to Server2. You should see the name server2.contoso.com in brackets after the Active Directory Users And Computers console object.
11.Delete the Administration OU from Server2.
12.Reinsert the network cable into the network card of Serverl. Allow the two servers to replicate their changes. If you don’t want to wait, force replication using one of the techniques you learned in Chapter 5.
13 On Server2, create an OU named Admin.
14.On Server2 in the Active Directory Users And Computers console, enable the Advanced Features view option. To do so, click View from the toolbar and then
click Advanced Features. Expand the contoso.com domain object again, if necessary. You should now see several additional objects in the console hierarchy. Click the LostAndFound object in the free practice exam questions console. You should see the three user accounts you created on Serverl inside this container.
