I admit it – I’m a seaside nut. I love visiting shorelines around the world simply because, if you ask me, every single shore possesses its own identity, yet still, all have that same quality I like – a chance to instill instant calm. Starting on the west coast there are the windward beaches with large dunes. That translates to some incredible surfing. If you desire cove-type beaches which are more secluded, try the southern coast.
Considered one of my favorite seashores in the Algarve lies south of Lagos on the western coast – Dona Ana, that is a group of coves. Dona Ana is just the perfect place to get lost in the beauty of The Algarve. I can just sit and think for hours. And, when I’m through sitting, it’s fun to explore the many caves and grottos which grace the area.
Lagos is often a sleepy beach community with just about anything you can actually want in paradise. White beaches, private beaches, grottos, wine growing, a lively nightlife, modern conveniences and just about the nicest people you have ever met in your lifetime.
