Edit Canon FS, JVC, Panasonic MOD files on Mac

MOD is a widely used tapeless video format by camcorders such as JVC, Panasonic and Canon in quite some models. And many MOD files come in HD quality. However, when it comes to MOD editing, it can be a headache to a lot users because many video editing software applications do not MOD files, especially on Mac.

Step 1: Add MOD files

Click the “Add File” button to browse your hard drive and import the MOD files you want to edit.

Step 2: Cut MOD file

If you just want the best part from an MOD file, you can cut your MOD video to get rid of the redundant part and only keep the best part you want. Click on the Clip button next to the Add button to open the Cut MOD video window, and follow the methods stated on the below screenshot of the windows to cut your MOD file.

Step 3: Crop MOD video

Click on the Edit button to the right of the Clip button to open the Edit window. Then you will see the Crop window. This function allows you to zoom in a specific area or remove the unnecessary sides from your MOD video. You can just drag the crop frame to specify the area you want to crop. Or you can set the crop values on the lower part of the window.

Step 4: Edit MOD video effects

If you are not satisfied with the video effects of your original MOD video, click on “Effect” tab on the lower left of the Edit window, and you can start to edit the video effects. Here you can set video brightness, contrast and saturation of your MOD video and apply a special effect such as gray, old film or emboss to your MOD video.

Step 5: Merge MOD files

If you want to join multiple MOD files into a single file, you can just click on the Merge button above the Profile list. And after the conversion, the added MOD files will be converted into a single file.

Step 6: Convert HD video

Now, you are done with editing MOD video files, you can just select an output format (eg: if you want to convert MOD to iPhone supported MP4 format) from the Profile list for each added file (if you are not merging them into a single file), and then click on the big Start button on the lower right of the main window to start converting your MOD files into the format you prefer.

Tip: You can tick the “Apply to all” option to apply the same output format to all added files.
