The secret to having a perfect nights slumber could be a memory foam pillow
We all know just how much discomfort waking up and lifting your head up off a pillow only to find you have a bad back or a sore neck, can cause throughout the day, often leaving us in not the best of moods and less able to deal with the peaks and troughs that life throws at us. How many times have you snapped at someone just because you’re in a bad mood due to waking up with aches and pains in your body? Now, just imagine if you could wake up in the morning after having had a restful nights sleep and not have any aches or pains in your neck or back when you climb out of bed? Sounds good doesn’t it, well i was in just that position some months ago and whilst i would like to be able to say i found some miracle cure or something, the reality is that this great nights rest was down to two things.
The first thing i done was to borrow my fiancees tempur pillow which is specially designed to add support and cushioning to the neck where it needs it most and i have to admit i could feel the benefit of this the very next day as when i woke up i could feel how loose my neck was and the distinct lack of aches in it. I have to admit i was initially skeptical about the cause of this so my fiancee went out and bought me my own memory foam pillow that i could test out that night, and wow, i don’t think i’ve had such a good nights sleep ever as i did that night. I love the way the pillow moulds itself to the shape of my neck and my fiancee often jokes she gets a better hug from her pillow than she does from me, charming! I can see why though as i would never to back to an ordinary pillow after having used such a neck pillow and since then we’ve also invested in a memory foam mattress that whilst is early days, i’m noticing a definite improvement in both my sleeping posture and much less aches in my back in the morning. No longer do i wake up with a stiff back or neck, which is something i never thought i would be able to say.
The second thing is quite simply a better sleeping posture, previously i would tend to curl up in a semi ball with one leg stretched out straight and the other tucked up almost in a fetal position. Now this may be obvious to some of you however i soon began to realise this was part of the problem as my sleeping position was unnatural and put added strain on my muscles and joints, in particular my back and neck as i slept. This poor sleeping position provided no support or cushioning for my neck so simply by changing my sleeping position i was immediately able to get a better nights rest.
If you’re looking for help in getting a better nights sleep then a memory foam pillow could certainly help you or if you want to go one step further then a memory foam mattress topper would compliment your pillow perfectly.
