In the year of 1930, the region of Kanha was separated into two different sanctuaries namely Hallon Wildlife Sanctuary and Banjar Wildlife Sanctuary. Kanha National Park was created on 1 June of 1955. Today this famous park extends to more than an area of 950 sq km in the tow districts of Balaghat and Mandla in Madhya Pradesh.
