Nerf Longstrike – A Review
The Nerf Longstrike is undoubtedly the coolest and the best looking among all the Nerf Guns Hasbro has ever made. This blaster has an appearance that will appeal to all war game enthusiasts, young and old alike.
The Longstrike is the longest rifle blaster at over 3 feet long. Do not be mistaken though that it has also the longest shooting range because the Nerf Longshot still has that record. The shooting range of the Longstrike is probably the only disappointing thing about the Longstrike. It does not use a direct plunger system used in the Longshot, instead it has a reverse plunger system that can also be found in the Raider and the Deploy.
With this system the shots will fall from 30 to 35 feet range without using a barrel attachment. That should not be bad, but also not good because the barrel attachment seems to be not a very good accessory. The reverse plunger system does not give enough speed for the darts to travel to a farther range because the reverse plunger do not have the same force the direct plunger system can give.
With a few modifications though, there can be some major improvements done with the Longstrike shooting range. When the air restrictor is removed, it will add at least 10 feet and more if the spring is replaced. You may not hit the Longshot ranges but at least you can add a little distance that can also be significant with your game.
For those who do not care to modify the Longstrike and prefer a much lighter and less bulky rifle, then it is the best Nerf Gun for them. After all, it will all come down to a person’s preference. The Longstrike can be a very good rifle not just it looks good but also it feels very sturdy and it is a blaster very well made.
Just like other N-Strike Guns, the Longstrike has interchangeable parts compatible with other N-Strike Guns. One great feature is that it can hold 2 extra clips in the shoulder stock; this will help in cutting down reloading times while in the middle of the game. The two additional clips have to be acquired separately as they do not come with the box.
Just a precaution, the Longstrike may be the coolest looking Nerf Gun there is, but it is not the best performing. So, it is better to try to balance what you need before buying this Nerf Gun.
