How to edit Panasonic, canon FS MOD with iMovie 09, iMoive HD

MOD is the informal names of tapeless formats used by Panasonic in some models of camcorders such as: Panasonic SV-AV100, Panasonic SDR-S7/SDR-S10/SDR-S26/SDR-S100/SRD-S150/SDR-H18/SDR-H20/SDR-H60/SDR-H200/SDR-SW20/SDR-SW21.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOD_and_TOD_(video_format)

The Canon FS Series camcorder such as Canon FS10, Canon FS11, Canon FS30, Canon FS31, Canon FS100, Canon FS200, Canon FS300 is the flash memory standard definition camcorder which captures video with MOD format and MPEG-2 compression.

iMovie ’09 works with many tapeless camcorders that record to flash memory, a hard disk drive (HDD), or DVD media. These devices use a USB 2.0 cable and include camcorders using MPEG-2 (standard definition), MPEG-4, AVCHD, and H.264 formats.

However, the supports are only limited to some models of Panasonic or Canon FS camcorder models including Panasonic SDR-10/SDR-26/SRD-150.

Such as: I just bought this Canon FS 100 Camcorder at best by for $399 tonight. It comes with a USB 2.0 port to import the video data, but when I plug in my USB from the camcorder into my Mac, no icon for the Camcorder mounts to my desktop. (From: Yahoo answers)

Luckily, a friend of mine recommended me a Movie Converter for Mac which he tried very great. I download the free trial and found it’s very easy to use, and can convert between all the video formats like TOD, MOD, M2TS, MP4, H.264, QuickTime(MOV), MPEG, AVI, WMV, DVD, FLV, 3GP, SWF, MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, AC3, etc for Mac OS. Then I bought it without any hesitating. If you have the same problem with me, maybe you can try it. Learn the details about how to edit Panasonic MOD with iMovie and import Canon FS MOD to iMovie!
