Change Your Name and Stand Out in MySpace
I signed up for a MySpace account a couple of years ago, and have used it fairly extensively since. Unfortunate I wasn’t getting the exposure that I hoped I would. It turns out that by changing my name in MySpace, I significantly increased my general exposure. In fact I was amazed how a name change would have such a dramatic effect.
In MySpace your name is basically your page title and plays a significant part in how many views you get. By changing your name to something a little more interesting, you can make a big difference on how the world sees you. Standing out from the crowd is not going to happen if your MySpace page is entitled Bernard Smith, not that there is anything inherently wrong with that.
Think about what your interests are and what your MySpace page is all about, and try to think of a name that reflects that. You’ll get a lot more hits to your page and people will want to add you to their friends list if they have similar interests. What you ideally want to do is choose some specific keywords or words that when people do a search they will find your site. So look for key words that are relevant to your page and consider using them within your title. You may even find yourself on the first page of Google.
It’s pretty easy to change your display name and MySpace. Just sign into your account and click on the ‘edit profile link, select ‘Name’ and type in that key word rich display name. Then by just saving the changes and viewing your profile you’ll get to see how your new MySpace title looks.
There are also ways to change the default font size for your page title, but this involves making amendments to the CSS ( cascading style sheet) entry. If you think this is important do a web search to find out how.
So that’s really all there is to improving your page hits in Myspace. I can’t guarantee you’ll become famous, but you just might. It really did make a huge difference to my own MySpace page, and I found loads of friends with similar interests to me that I would never have found before.
