Are 3D televisions worth the hype?
When it comes to technology, there seems to be a never ending list of new products that are waiting to enter the market and this is something that applies to many different types of technology and the television industry is no different with a range of makes and models that are designed to suit all types of requirements. We started with black and white televisions that were a revolution to the market but then in the late 1960’s colour television entered the market and customers were wowed by the quality of the picture.
In the 1980’s, customers had further reason to be impressed as plasma and LCD televisions entered the market and the picture was enhanced further. Customers didn’t think it could get any better but then High Definition arrived to make all programmes and films considerably better, everyone rushed to the shops to buy the latest products thinking that it couldn’t get any better but they were wrong (or were they?) as 3D TVs have since made their long and awaited entrance into the market, the question is though, is all the hype that surrounds them worth it as there are still a number of sceptical people around.
3D televisions, like all other new pieces of technology were eagerly anticipated but when they hit the market the demand was not as high as first expected. There is no doubt that they are something new but the question is; are they worth the money? People are of more than willing to give them a go to get the experience but it seems like they are happy going to selected pubs to watch football in 3D rather than to purchase one themselves. One problem for many people is the fact that you have got to wear the special glasses as many people don’t like them.
Manufacturers are desperately trying to develop a glasses-less 3D television and when they do you would imagine that the demand would increase. For anybody who has watched a programme, film or sport in 3D you will know the quality but it will be interesting to see whether this is really all a fad and whether customers will stick to the proven quality of products such as LCD, Plasma and LED televisions. Your decision may be down to the budget you have available and how often you normally watch the TV, but think carefully before you make that all important purchase.
There are some great deals on 3D TVs but if you are looking for an LED TV then you can also find the best deals online.
