New Director for IMPI
After the controversy sparked in relation to whether Jorge Amigo Castañeda had resigned as Director of IMPI coming occupying since neither more nor less than 18 years and that the body had been left leaderless (which was true), and by the President Felipe Calderón appointed a new Director it’s no surprise to many and that his name sounded and the aisles of the IMPI: José Rodrigo Roque Diaz, who had already occupied the post of Legal Director of the Directorate General of INDAUTOR and who also served as Deputy Attorney Research of he Ministry of Finance and Public Credit.
It recognized the great work done by Jorge Amigo Castañeda for the management of address no doubt, for not only advertising and design with his current team the Industrial Property Act, but also put Mexico on the map of the main podium International Intellectual Property, always involved in private disputes in which they paid to act as conciliator between the parties and therefore with great anecdotes.
The resignation of Jorge Amigo has been followed by the officers of great ability and who acted as directors and deputy directors of areas and that they hoped would be appointed in office again, but this is still a question, difficult work of the many training IMPI officials who depend for their activity, experience in industrial property is not acquired overnight, especially in the slight but homogeneity existing federal laws and international treaties and even more so by the standards of the authorities increasingly blend more with the international arena.
My greatest appreciation to Jorge Amigo Castañeda for his management and best wishes to José Rodrigo Roque Diaz, who has the ability to monitor and follow up the developments in the difficult but not impossible due to legal security in the area of Intellectual Property effectively combat piracy.
