Tattoos in Sydney
The Sydney tattoo and body art exhibition ran for the second time this year, and attracted tattoo lovers across both Sydney and the world. The tattoo show was living proof of the growing popularity of tattoos in Sydney, and showcased the growing number of Australian and Sydney tattoo artists.
Tattoos aren’t looked down on any more. Instead they are an accepted way of life and an artistic means of self-expression. In fact, tattoo artists are more respected than ever. Celebrities such as Kat Von D, Robbie Williams and the Beckhams have no doubt encouraged the popularity and growing acceptance of tattoos, and television shows like Miami Ink and LA Ink are also helping promote the tattoo artist lifestyle.
This year’s Sydney tattoo show was a chance for fellow tattoo artists to meet each other and discuss their passions. It was a chance to show of their latest ink and their latest achievements to a worldwide audience, and it was also a chance for many passionate tattoo devotees to get themselves inked by some top world famous tattoo artists. There was also plenty of tattoo merchandise, clothing, tattooing equipment, tattoo related magazines and tattoo themed artwork on show.
While still in its early years, the Sydney tattoo expo shows promise of becoming one of the world’s premier tattoo events. Even though tattooing in Sydney is still not as widespread or popular as international cities like London or Tokyo, Sydney’s attraction for many world-renowned tattoo artists is definitely not one to discount. The calibre of the work done by Australia’s tattoo artist is on par with that of any tattoo artist around the world.
Any tattoo artist who isn’t already planning their stall for next year’s Sydney tattoo expo is missing out on an amazing opportunity to grab the attention of Australia and the world. In the next few years, Sydney tattoo artists will be working hard to make their stalls bigger and better for upcoming tattoo exhibitions, hoping to rival international tattoo evens like the international London Tattoo convention.
