Tips for Jansou
This one’s for the Mahjong fans! In the past few days that I’ve been playing in Jansou Mode, (in Tenhou) I’ve discovered a number of cool tricks to make profit. But first, let’s understand what Jansou mode really is,
In this mode, every ID sets off with one million G as currency/cash/green stuff and Shuugi is a “ip” awarded if you get ippatsu/aka dora/ura dora and yakuman. That’s what Osamu and all the game developers tell you.
Now, from what I understand of this game, awarding shuugi is almost like a tradition, they (furii jansou; free parlors) do it on a very common basis if you get an ippatsu/ura dora/red dora. With a bit of luck and whole lot of applied mathematics, I’ve figured that the amount of shuugi you’re awarded, depends directly on the Red Dora. Here is some handy information on red dora,
1. Red are more profitable than any regular dora because there are chips.
2. If you’re dealt a hand of red fives, be patient. Remember that he number of tiles is worth the wait at the time of riichi.
3. Although there are instances when the red dora are only given to concealed hands, you should certainly push for red dora.
Well, here’s hoping that these tips improve your Jansou experience by a large factor!. Also, please remember that these tips are applicable to real-life Jansou more than Tenhou’s Jansou game so if ever you find yourself in a sticky situation, you know what to do!
