Banks
When did banks stop being operated by people? Everything seems to be automated these days. Most banks do not offer the possibility to contact the branch directly. There are always a thousand obstacles to get through before you can speak to someone who can help. Banks are supposed to be in financial crisis and I thing they could save some money by cutting down on unnecessary staff.
Recently I applied for a loan. I have banked with the same branch for over 15 years and have never been in debt or had adverse credit. I wanted to raise the capital via two houses which I had recently inherited. After a lot of typing on her computer the assistant told me that I had been declined. Basically it was a case of “computer says no”. It was a “no brainer” as there were two properties involved but the assistant had to go with the computers decision. I left in a huff and said that the Sat Nav in my New Land Rover Glasgow car could make better decisions! Oopps
This problem is not only related to banks. BT are another big offender. I spent ages going around their automated system only to be cut off whilst somebody was transferring my call. Maybe I am getting old but I think I am not the only person who finds it frustrating. Imagine how nice it would be to call a company and an actual person answer the phone! I think these days are long gone and I might just have to get used to it.
