Wild Boar Park
My husband and I have just taken our a little boy to the Wild Boar Animal Park in Lancashire. It is set in beautiful countryside in the Forest of Bowland and is approximately a thirty minute car Volvo C70 Essex journey from Preston.
The weather was a little bit grey but thankfully it did not rain. Entrance to the park costs £5.00 per adult, £3.00 for children and under twos go free. The park has a variety of farm animals to view including sheep, goats and more exotically Wallabies! There is an interactive aspect to the park which means the children get the chance to stroke the baby chicks and bottle feed the new born lambs. The excited look on the children’s faces was priceless.
After spending a lot of time with the lambs we set off on one of the nature walks which took us past Lama, Wild Boar and Deer. The walks take up to an hour long as the park is set over a vast amount of land. When we returned to the main park we were all really hungry. Thankfully we had prepared a picnic and promptly tucked in.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in the playground and enjoying a tractor ride around the farm. It is a really lovely family day out and offers excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend the park.
