SBA has recently started a new program for the women. The Women Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program aims at providing equal opportunity to the women in grabbing federal contracts. The program will ensure that women have equal participation in the government contracts.
The eligibility requirements for the plan are simple. A woman who has more than 51 percent stake in a firm or more than one woman having similar undertaking are eligible for the contract. The aspirant must be a US citizen. If they are applying in the category of “economically disadvantaged” the owners should have documentary evidence for the same. There are basically two ways to certify for the programs. The self certification or third party certifications both are eligible for the contract.
Online application can also be made for the plan. The applicant has to log on to the SBA’s General Login System (GLA). After login the aspirant should get his own SBA user ID and password. Now the aspirant has the access to the entire information about the loan programs and important notifications. The certification documents are a must. The documents must be duly signed and up loaded by the loan aspirant. The applicant can upload the required documents on the login system and get the benefits of the loan plans at a click of a mouse button. Such ease in application is not facilitated by any other federal agency.
