Organic foods may definitely get a seat at the kids’ table.
Seven out of 10 Americans stated they opt for organic options. It is probably no shock that many parents mention they wish to provide their babies the benefits of an organic product when it comes to feeding them baby formula. If parents formula feed, and choose an organic infant formula, it’s essential that they use an organic formula enriched with DHA and ARA,” explains Dr. Barbara Levine, director of the Nutrition Information Center and associate professor of nutrition in clinical medicine at Weill College of Medicine of Cornell University.
The only publicly distributed natural baby formula with DHA and ARA is available at Wal-Mart and is referred to as Parent’s Choice Organic Infant Formula, created by PBM Nutritionals. In addition to getting the vital lipids, the formula is enhanced with the same nutrients as some other baby formulas and meets the strict newborn formula instructions set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Finding Affordable Formula
The formula guides parents wanting for organic alternatives in a second way as well: It could save them some cash. PBM got around the inconvenience of high-priced organic foods by providing its product nationally using Wal-Mart stores.
