One of those days!

I have just had one of those days. Everything seems to have gone wrong. I wanted to visit my mum. She lives in the North West of England and I live down in the South. Consequently we only see each other once every few months and I was really looking forward to it. It is about a four hour car journey to my mum’s house and I was going to stay overnight and travel back the next day. I kissed my husband goodbye and went on my way.

After an hours drive I realised that I needed to put some petrol in the Used Ford Focus Scotland car. I pulled into the station and checked which side the petrol went in, this was my husbands car and I wasn’t used to driving it. I filled up and went inside to pay. How embarrassing, my card declined. I protested that there should be no problem but the assistant did not look impressed. I phoned HSBC bank and after a lot of security questions, I was told that my card had been stopped due to security issues. Thankfully if was soon sorted out and I was able to pay for my petrol and leave.

The next problem started about fifteen minutes up the motorway. The car just broke down. I managed to steer into the hard shoulder and called the AA. They came rather quickly! The problem? I had put petrol in a diesel car. Again, embarrassing. They managed to pump it through and after filling up with diesel, three hours later I arrived at my mothers.

They do say that problems come in threes and I think it is correct. When I arrived I realised I had left my overnight bag in the hallway of my house! Wonderful.
