A good start to the year
Mitsubishi has announced that Quarter One sales are up by more than 7% compared to the same period in 2010, and the total UK vehicle market has seen a 13 percent decline. The pick-up market has had a 64% increase compared to 2010, which contributes to Mitsubishi’s 2011 success.
In the retail sector, the Mitsubishi L200 held on to top position with a 27.6% market share, which is 8.6% ahead of the Nissan Navara and 14.8% ahead of the Toyota Hilux. Other vehicles that out-sold expectations in Mitsubishi’s range included the Shogun; Outlander crossover; and new ASX compact crossover, as all contributed towards a strong start to 2011.
Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s Managing Director, Said: “Whilst our sales have increased, we have been careful to ensure this has not been at the expense of dealer profitability. Our latest figures from both 2010 and Quarter One 2011 show that dealer profitability is at its highest level in the history of the company. To increase profitability as well as sales volume is a great success, which I am sure is part of the reason why we are getting more and more dealers apply for the UK franchise.”
As nice as it is to know that Mitsubishi are doing so well, I have decided to sell my Mitsubishi and buy myself a smaller engined car. I have put up a sign that says ‘Mitsubishi for sale’ on the car window but so far it hasn’t got me any customers, so I have decided to put an advert on the internet and hopefully I will get a response from someone.
