Paddling in Padstow
I love Cornwall. It is my favourite place to holiday in the whole of the UK. I enjoy the little quaint towns, the beaches and the art! Due to Cornwalls picturesque scenery and amazing landscapes it has always been a popular place for artists.
On a recent break down south we had booked to stay in a hotel in Padstow. We live in Wales and it is approximately a 5 hour New Nissan Note Abergele car journey to Cornwall. Padstow itself is a pretty village with winding streets leading down to the harbour where you will find an array of restaurants to suit most tastes. I am particularly fond of seafood and The Seafood Restaurant of Padstow offers outstanding Oysters.
During our stay we visited the pretty village of Port Isaac. Port Isaac is essentially a fishing village from the 14th century and features narrow winding streets flanked with old white washed Cornish cottages. It is listed as an area of outstanding natural beauty and it is very easy to see why. There is a shingly beach but with four outstanding sandy beaches nearby it tends to be very quiet.
The larger town of St. Ives is also nearby. Although it is a little more commercialised than other Cornish towns it has retained a lot of its charm and character. This is the best place to see artwork from budding artists and you could even pay a visit to the Newlyn School of Art to see some amazing works of art from times gone by.
