The Audi A4

In 1994 Audi introduced that A4 to replace the Audi 80. It is a compact executive car rivalling the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C Class. The Audi A4 is available as a four door saloon, an estate and a cabriolet, all available with Audi’s Quattro system.

The fourth generation Audi A4 was released in 2008 and is the current model. The new Audi A4 was initially unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show in its saloon form; the estate was unveiled later at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The Audi A4 has the best in class rear leg room and boot space; it is slightly larger than its predecessor.

There are plenty of diesel and petrol engine to choose from in the A4 range. The petrol engines consist of a 1.8 litre TFSI, a 2.0 litre TFSI and a V6 powered 3.2 Litre FSI. In the diesel range you have a 2.0 litre TDI, a 2.7 litre V6 TDI and a 3.0 litre V6 TDI. The larger petrol and diesel engines come as standard with Audi’s renowned 4 wheel drive Quattro system.

The Audi A4 is not the sportiest drive in its class but, it’s a joy to drive with its well balanced handling and ample grip. The ride is comfortable but due to its size as well as front and rear overhang, larger bumps can de-stabilise the Audi A4.

Like most modern day Audis the A4 is very quiet on the inside. Road, tyre and suspension noise do not enter the cabin and the engines are ultra quiet with a smooth buzz.
