Web Banner Design: 10 Tips to Take you to the Top
Web banner design should be a crucial element of any online marketing campaign. Unfortunately a lot of marketers take the necessary time to design an effective, user friendly banner and end up doing more harm to their business than good. We don’t want that to happen to you so the following are ten tips to take your banners to the top:
.Use bright colors. Experiment a little and rule out the combinations that clash.
.Include a call to action. If you want people to follow your banner give them a little nudge with an icon that says ‘tell me more’
.Try and keep file size to a minimum so your banner loads quickly every time. Elaborate flash animation can be risky.
.The best way to build your company is to build your brand. Allow people to familiarize themselves with your brand by using the same colors, logo, etc. for everything you produce.
.If you decide to go with a flash banner make sure you give consumers the option to pause/close it. If not you’ll you could irritate your potential customers.
.Use a small amount of persuasive text. If you use a lot of text you can rest assured that people don’t read it, and in the case of flash banners you’ll have to loop text extremely quickly.
.Instead of having your flash banner loop endlessly have it stop and display your logo/slogan.
.Make sure your text is targeted specifically for the demographic you’re after. Chasing multiple demographics usually results in weak, unappealing text.
