Tata Nano ready to explore Sri Lankan Market
The leading automobile manufacturer Tata Motors almost came with a storm into the car market of India with the launch of its small car named as Tata Nano. The small car Tata Nano soon became very popular among the Indian middle class people and now this world’s cheapest car is ready to entire Sri Lankan car market. As per reports, Tata Nano will first ship around 500 units to Sri Lanka in June this year and the Indian car company Tata Motors has set the target to sell up to 200 cars per month through its Sri Lankan dealer initially. Tata Motors is said to have appointed dealers for Nano who are already selling Tata Trucks in the country. Tata Nano price in Sri Lanka is yet not disclosed by the company but it is hoped that as per Indian market it would be very affordable. After this, Tata Motors is expected to target Indonesia and Thailand car market where the automobile market has high demand for such small cars like Indian.
Tata Motors launched Nano in 2009 and the car was much liked by the middle class people of India and also it became the topic to talk in high class range people. Tata Nano price in India starts form Rs1,15,361 (ex-showroom). This cost is even less than Honda’s recently launched bike in India with the engine capacity of 250cc.
Tata Nano has comfortable seat for four people. Now Tata Motors has decided to increase the cost of Nano after the prices of raw materials like steel, rubber have risen recently. After Sri Lanka, Tata Motors also revealed its European variant of Tata Nano and is looking forward to sell Nano in United States as well. Notably, Tata Nano crossed 10,000 units sales in April 2011 following the aggressive sales strategy Tata Motors pitched in.
