We bought our camper used originating from a dealer, but also in new condition. There seemed to be supposedly no leaks by any means in the unit. I spent each day along with the camper, and removed the many old silicone. However removed the threshold that joins the cover for the aluminum frame. Whenever i did that, I’d been able to lift inside the roof about 6 inches and see the wood underneath. The corner which was suspect to being the problem, definitely was because of the wood discoloration, plus it had been damp. So I placed a couple of towels beneath the roof to carry it ready to accept the side air to permit the wood to normally dry out before repairing. Repeat this if you have no rain within the forecast
Now, how to remedy it then it wouldn’t leak.
Someone said about some stuff called eternabond, a microsealant tape that’s lifetime and worked rather well on rubber roofs. It was pretty not used to the RV market back then, however it is now well liked since. I do believe that it was originally devised for underwater repairs/leaks, and has now an eternity guarantee against leaking. Therefore i guess if you happen to sink your camper and need to patch it, it needs to work underwater
