Strong dealership network

SEAT continues to expand its network of UK dealers, aiming to increase numbers from 122 dealers to as many as 135 sales and service centre by early 2012. The current performance of SEAT is showing that the firm is on target.

As there are just a handful of open points still remaining across the UK and dealer coverage in the key urban areas including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, SEAT’s franchise team is seeing active competition between would-be dealers for the chance to run a dealership.

Part of the brand’s success in attracting new operators, and replacing existing dealers where necessary, is it is willing to engage with a variety of potential partners. From blue-chip plcs such as Vertu Motors and Sytner, powerful dealer groups such as Arnold Clark and Snows Motor Group Ltd to successful single-site operators such as Pembrokeshire-based Gareth Hughes Motors, the network is a broad mix of thriving business models.

SEAT recorded its best-ever March 2011 with over 7,200 new cars for a record UK market share of almost 2%. All employees of SEAT dealers across the UK were very happy with the results and hoping to achieve better results next year.

Jason Cranswick, SEAT UK National Franchise Manager, explained: “Absorption rates are improving and an 80% rate as a target should be achievable. More than this, engaging with our network and sharing best-practice techniques via our networks of area managers are simple but important methods of supporting and nurturing our SEAT dealer in Kent and across the UK.”
