Choosing a Cycle Rack Installer
If you and your school have decided to have some cycle racks installed at your site then you will want to know how to go about choosing who will manufacture and install this product for you.
Going into an unknown product can be daunting but with my top 3 tips on choosing a supplier, hopefully it will help you to get this project right and enjoy it for years to come.
So let’s begin by listing three of the most common problems that people face when trying to decide on a company.
1. Online sources. Go online to research the product firstly and then find some local companies. Make sure you write down the basics of what you want to know from them and then enquire. Most places will not mind talking to you over the phone for as long as you need to get the information you want and if they know their product well enough, this will not be a problem.
2. Shortlist. I think it’s important to at least get a list of five potential companies to compare. Once you’ve done this, see if they have provided any schools that are local to you and contact the school to ask if you could discuss the cycle rack that they supplied. Most schools will not mind sharing their experiences and word of mouth is usually one of the best forms of advertising.
3. Checks and forms. Always ensure that they have the rel eva nt paperwork and health and safety checks. Because you are a school, any fitters should have had their CRB check if they are installing during school terms. Make sure that you get your full report and make sure you are happy with it before you sign anything.
