New Vauxhall Zafira Tourer
At the Geneva Motor Show Vauxhall unveiled a Zafira Tourer concept but did not release any information on whether it will go into production. Vauxhall has now announced that the Zafira Tourer will definitely go into production and ready for customer deliveries by the early part of 2012.
The Tourer model will still have the Flex7 seating arrangement but on top of that it will have improved material quality, increased cabin space and a large airy cabin. These are the most noticeable distinguishing features between the used Vauxhall Zafira and the new Tourer.
The new Vauxhall Zafira Tourer will be packed with a multitude of driver assist systems, systems not seen in other Zafira models in the past. These include, Traffic Sign Recognition, Side Blind Spot Alert and Advance Park Assist – which will help the driver to find an adequate parking space and then guides them in to it.
Vauxhall announced that a new 1.4 Turbo petrol and a 2.0 CDTi diesel will join the 1.8 petrol unit, all of which offer a power range from 110PS to 165PS. In the diesel range there will be three versions of Vauxhall’s Euro-5 compliant 2.0 CDTi common rail units, also available in the Vauxhall Astra and Insignia. Power outputs will be 110PS, 130PS and 165PS.
In the 1.4T and 2.0 CDTi engines, six speed manual transmissions will come as standard, with the option of a six speed automatic available only on certain models. The 1.8 litre petrol model will have a five speed manual gear box.
