Your CD/DVDs Need Something More!
How often is it that CD/DVDs don’t have labels. Without labels, there’s a good chance they will end up in the dustbin one day. And quite often, you may need to duplicate a large number of CD/DVDs. The way that you have done this in the past, may have been far from perfect.
Churches record their sermons and make them available to their congregation on optical storage media like the CD or DVD. If you’ve built up a collection of such discs, it’s very likely you’ve stacked them in a pile somewhere, along with many other CD/DVDs. It’s not uncommon for many of these discs not to have labels. A disc without a label is like a book without a cover. Imagine in a library, if all books had no cover or spine. It would take ages to find the book you wanted. It is like trying finding a person who does not have a face.
So, schools too, are just as just as much in need of putting labels on all their CD/DVDs as the rest of us, so that they can be easily archived and retrieved. A major part of human effort should not be given to minor tasks like finding CD/DVDs from a cluster. The same problem is faced by other institutions where digital information is stored on optical discs, like government departments, sales and marketing firms, recording studios and photographers, to name a few.
Many institutions and companies that need to record on optical discs, also often need to duplicate them in large quantities. All these institutions may have many people and number of people may vary from place to place. Like in the church a sermon may be needed to go to many people and the minister can not sit on the computer for this, and keep recording the discs.
