12 Lunch Date!
My husband is extremely fussy about where he eats if we ever go out to dinner. I think it is because he is a trained chef and knows how a lot of restaurants try to cut corners or make money buy selling cheap quality goods. As a consequence I only take him to restaurants that have at least one Michelin star. I never tell anyone as they may think I am being snobby but it just makes good sense!
Tomorrow my mother is traveling to visit us from Wales, we live in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire and I want to take her out for dinner in the evening but the question is, where? I thought it might be nice to take a drive into the countryside, we could always leave the Land Rover Parts Colchester car and get a taxi home if we stumble across some good wine.
She loves anything with an Italian influence so I think this would be a good starting point. The problem is that my husband and I have not visited any Italians, it has mainly be Nouvelle Cuisine. Back to the drawing board.
Perhaps I could take her into the city centre. There is a well established Italian which is housed in the old stock exchange, aptly named Stock. It could definitely be a consideration. I don’t think it is a Michelin starred restaurant but as my husband is staying home to look after the children, do I really care? Maybe I can bring him home some cake so he doesn’t feel too left out!
