VW Golf Concepts on show at Worthersee
The Worthersee GTI meet is the world’s largest gathering of GTI enthusiasts. To repay the enthusiasm and loyalty shown by these people VW will be bringing along some of the latest Golf Concepts. As well as concept cars, VW will be demonstrating new models and accessory highlights. New VW Boston dealer will be in attendance to soak up the atmosphere and gauge fans’ reactions to the new concepts.
At the fan based event, Volkswagen will unveil the Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet concept car, which boasts 270PS of power with a top speed of 250km/h, as well as the Volkswagen Golf R Concept.
Two Volkswagen Golf R Concepts will be on show at Worthersee, powered by a VW 2.0 litre turbo engine producing 270PS. One of the two concepts on show will feature “Velvet Grey Metallic” exterior paint, with 19 inch “Talladega” polished alloy wheels with brake callipers finished in orange.
On the inside the motorsport shell seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather with anthracite Nappa leather used towards to inner surfaces. The back shells are finished in black piano paint. The steering wheel, gear shift level and door sill plates are made of carbon.
The second Volkswagen Golf R Concept is finished in “Aplomb Blue” with 19 inch “Glendale” wheels in “Brilliant Silver” which are new to the Volkswagen Golf range. Again, the exterior mirror caps, as well as interior accents and door sill plates are made of carbon.
The Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet concept is the fastest open top Volkswagen Golf ever, with a 0-62mph time of less than six seconds and a 350Nm of torque at 2500rpm. Like the hard top Golf R the Cabriolet is also lowered by 25mm via a sport chassis. It also has 19 inch “Talladega” alloy wheels with a 17 inch brake system with internally ventilated discs complete with high performance blue painted brake callipers which include an R-logo.
