Saint Vlas is one of the most rapidly developing resorts in Bulgaria. It has 3000 inhabitants and is located on the Black Sea coast at the foot of the southern slopes of Stara Planina, 9 km from Nessebar, 2km from Elenite complex and 5 km north of Sunny Beach and 40 km north of Bourgas.

With a rich history, St. Vlas was initially established in the second century as a Thracian settlement called Larissa, and later in the 14 century was renamed to St. Vlas – the keeper, healer and protector of merchants. During the years of Ottoman rule the village was renamed several times and all names were connected with the monasteries around it. Unfortunately, none of these monasteries has survived to present day.The Turks called it Kucuk monastery, and in the records it was written down as as Monastery village. It restored its name of Saint Vlas after the reunification of the Bulgarian state in the end of the 19th century.
Combination of mountain and sea has healing effects on lung diseases and St.Vlas boasts the only seaside sanitarium in the country. The clean beaches, the crystal water, the local fishermen port, and marinas are an essential complement to the development of the resort.

There are three beaches on both sides of the Marina, with a total length of 1.5 km, with the longest among them being the central beach. South of it is located a smaller beach called “Camping”. The third beach is located near the yacht marina and also bears the beautiful name of Marina.
