HIV curative strategies are expected to be fine tuned
For HIV cure, a one stop portal which was in demand for long will be fulfilled by global symposiums like the International Symposium on HIV and Infectious Diseases (ISHEID). The meets are aimed at bringing together professionals from the world over on a single platform for better interaction and enhanced coordination.
According to Jose Gatell, MD, treatment for HIV was up and running even 10 years ago, but lacked convenient systems of cure. HIV patients are benefiting from effective strategies that have come about from research and development and resulted in lowering pill intakes. Among the main areas that could be ironed out are prevention of HIV with improved medicines and more technologically advanced therapy.
This will help in finding an effective cure by removing the stumbling blocks with the help of better coordination. People afflicted with the disease should have easy access to medical care and the problem of HIV should figure under human rights. It is expected that other emerging infectious diseases, cures for which are still at the nascent stage, will also be better tackled if HIV curative strategies are fine tuned.
