Solar Megamart Provides Solar Power Solutions to Australian Citizens

We all know the world is in a crisis of energy shortage from the traditional resources.  Renewable energies, especially solar power are the emerging energy resources.  Power generated from the Sun is mainly derived from heat engines and photovoltaic. Solar hot water, solar heating and solar heating/cooling are some of the advantages that solar power provides, other uses of solar applications include space heating and cooling through solar architecture, potable water via distillation and disinfection, lighting,  hot water, solar cooking, and commercial high temperature process heat for industrial purposes.  The most commonly used method to conserve solar energy is by way of solar panels.   If the conservation of solar energy is through solar panels, the passive solar ventilation system is called a solar chimney.  The solar Chimney is designed as a vertical shaft connecting the outer and inner parts of a building. Solar power is broadly divided into two: passive or active solar power. This categorization is based on the way the energy is captured, converted and distributed.  Solar Megamart produce photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors to conserve the energy and they are referred to as adopting active solar techniques. Passive solar techniques are comprised of constructing a building for maximum exposure to the Sun, choosing light dispersing materials or favorable thermal mass.

The World’s first commercial concentrated solar power plants were developed in 1980s. The world’s largest solar power plant is based in Mojave Desert of California and referred to as 354 MW SEGS CSP.  In today’s modern age, solar powered plants are a major contributor to our energy needs. Other significant plants include: Spain’s-based 150 MG the Solnova Solar Power Station and 100 MG Andasol solar power station.  The Canada-based 97 MW Sarnia Photovoltaic Power Plant is currently the world’s largest photovoltaic plant.  According to the scientists, when setting up solar hot water/heating and cooling systems are concerned, geographically low lying areas can be provided with solar energy as well.  When it comes to deploying solar hot water system, China leads the world with its 70 GW installed as of 2006. The country has a long term goal of deploying 210 GW by 2020.  If China is the world leader in deployment, Israel and Cyprus are calling the shots in the gross domestic product category as 90% of homes in these countries use solar hot water systems.

Apart from solar panels, thermal mass is another material that Solar Megamart uses to conserve the heat from the Sun. Thermal mass is comprised of stone, cement and water.  History has shown that all these thermal masses have been used in dry regions, so that buildings are kept cool as they absorb solar energy during the day and radiate it at night when the atmosphere becomes cooler. An interesting point about these techniques to conserve solar power is that these thermal masses are also useful in cold climate areas. Therefore, thermal mass use depends on several factors such as climate, day lighting and shading conditions. Hence, solar power is an effective energy source for hot water, heating and cooling.
