That’s No Bull
Cattle ranchers, breeders and the like make up a pretty small industry. Everybody knows everybody else. So it’s no surprise that news about the true worth of a Brahman Bull stud got around quickly.
Let me ask my readers something: How much do you think a breeder would ever pay for a stud bull?
Remember now, the stud bull is what you build a breeding system around. He is your pot of gold. A stud needs to be strong with great bone structure, come from a near flawless genetic line and have the qualities a breeder is looking to cultivate in their herd. Choosing the right stud can make or break your breeding program.
Keeping that in mind, how much do you think a breeder would pay for a stud bull now?
The answer is anywhere from $12,000 to $50,000. That range is what makes this next bit of news so amazing.
Now, I’m pretty new to the whole numbers and money and it’s worth thing. But through talk around town, I heard that two Brahman Bull studs went for $165,000 and $150,000!!
HOLY COW! I mean, I know Brahmans are the best bulls in the world and a good Brahman stud is almost priceless. However, I did not know that ‘priceless’ could be so expensive!
I guess that breeder really knows an excellent specimen when he sees one.
