How secure is your car?
When people buy cars they have different criteria they go buy. Some look for something economical, others something which is good for the environment and some look at cars that will handle all weather-conditions. But some drivers want a secure car which is difficult to steal and there is in fact a standard by which car security is measured so you’re able to find a secure car which suits you.
A secure car doesn’t only mean less chance for it to get stolen, but it also means the possibility of lower car insurance. A common feature such as an immobiliser can reduce the cost of your premium.
According the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards amongst the superminis the three most secure cars are the Audi A1, the Volkswagen Polo and the SEAT Ibiza whilst in the small family car category it’s Volvo C30, the Audi A3 and the Volkswagen Jetta that top the lists. Amongst large MPVs we also find a Volkswagen, this time it’s the VW Sharan. Runner-up is the SEAT Alhambra.
In other categories Volkswagen and Audi also scores high which clearly means that these manufacturers have security as one of their top priorities. Other high scorers are Volvo, Citroen and SEAT. Basingstoke is one place you’ll find a dealership if you would like to check out the security features on a SEAT for yourself.
But regardless of which car you do go for, it’s important to realise that if your car is less than three years old, due to all modern security features fitted on new cars, it should be almost impossible to steal regardless of make and model.
