MINI Emergency App
The MINI Emergency Service has been providing road side assistance for MINI owners since 2011 and is provided with all new MINIs registered in the UK including MINI Scotland for the first 3 years. A new MINI Emergency Service iPhone app has been launched. It is available for new and current MINI owners to request roadside assistance, locate their nearest MINI dealer and monitor their assistance status. The app has been developed by Mondial Assistance UK.
The new MINI emergency iPhone app is available for download from the app store for free of charge now, but in order to take full advantage of the application, owners will need a valid MINI Emergency Service policy. For MINI owners with cars over 3 years of age, the MINI Emergency Service can be purchased in conjunction with a MINI Insured Warranty or on its own.
The new iPhone app is one of many new features MINI will be launching as part of its “MINI Connected” program. The MINI Emergency app has been developed and launched to enable iPhone users a greater level of connectivity whilst they are with or without their MINI.
One of the highlights of the new app is that when a customer requests assistance through the MINI Emergency Service app, the customer is located through GPS which will allow MINI representatives in the Assistance Operations Centre to locate the nearest Customer Service Technician or assistance resource. Using this information the app is then able to give the user an estimated time of arrival and allow the monitoring of the technician attending their request in real time via Google maps.
Jane Noble, BMW Group National Customer Service Manager, says, “The launch of the MINI Emergency Service app is a natural extension of the service we provide to our customers, putting MINI owners firmly in control and further enhancing the ownership experience. This is the latest development in a range of tools we are creating to enhance the way we communicate with MINI owners to bring them the latest innovations on and off the road.”
