The new MINI Coupe range

The much anticipated launch of the MINI Coupe has been announced. The MINI Coupe will be available alongside the used MINI in Scotland from the 1st of October 2011. MINI has announced that all the Coupe models will come as standard with, DAB digital radio, air conditioning, park distance control, alloy wheels, 3-spoke sport leather steering wheel and sport stripes on the body work.

As well as a host of creature comforts and the latest technology, the MINI Coupe will also come with the new MINIMALISM environmental feature. The feature includes an array of technology such as Brake Energy Regeneration, Auto Start/Stop+, Shift Point Display+, Electric Power Steering and the need-based operation of ancillary components help to make efficient use of fuel with low emissions.

The Coupe range will come as standard with a six speed manual gearbox, which provides short-shift travel and provides meaty mid-range acceleration. The MINI Cooper S, John Cooper Works and Cooper SD Coupe models come with a self-adjusting clutch, where automatic readjustment means the pedal weight will remain the same throughout the car’s lifetime.

As an optional extra, buyers can have the Steptronic function gearbox, which includes paddle shift levers on the steering wheel. This feature is only available on the MINI Cooper Coupe, MINI Cooper S Coupe and MINI Cooper SD Coupe, for those who prefer automatic transmission.

A standard feature throughout the range is the “Sport” button. This little button will alter the response of the accelerator delivering sharper, sportier reactions for more enthusiastic driving, which will require more steering input but is complimented by more responsive feel.
