Jaguar will be the featured marque
At the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed Jaguar will be honoured as the featured marque. Jaguar will be celebrating 50 years of the Jaguar E Type by showcasing cars from the past, present and the future. The high speed 1.6 mile Goodwood Hill run will see past Jaguars, including a Jaguar E-type Group 44 racer, a D-type, an XK140 and XJ13 racer.
Visitors will be welcomed to the show by a sculpture 28 mitres high; the sculpture will be themed around Jaguar. Visitors will be able to the fastest current Jaguar, the XKR-S, which can do 0-100mph in just over 8 seconds. The 510PS Jaguar XFR will also make its UK public debut, the same model which was awarded ‘Most Spirited getaway” at the Festival of Speed press day earlier in the year.
On the Jaguar display stand will be the jaguar C-X75 concept car, providing an indication of a road going versions currently being developed by Jaguar and Williams F1. The Moving Motor Show on Thursday 30th June 2011 will see Jaguar’s latest models being available to drive up the Goodwood Hill by invited guests.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed demonstrates the British public’s affection with motoring and the passion we have for all things with four wheels. Jaguar being a great British car maker is embedded within our motoring history, this year’s show will feel very special because we have two great British things in one place.
As a Jaguar enthusiast it is refreshing to see Jaguar coming out toe events and showcasing up and coming models. New Jaguar Markfield and old Jaguars will hopefully create a memorial festival.
