How to Clean Hard Water Stains with Vinegar

Hard water stains are one of the most difficult to clean spots, which you have to deal with in your household. On the other hand, do you feel tired of trying different expensive cleaners, which do not give you any satisfying results?! Well, I’ve read this scenario and I can tell you that there is no point to keep following it.

There are many cleaners in London, who help home owners to fight effectively stained surfaces and areas in their properties. So, these professionals have a solution and for hard water stains, too. And here are some of their suggestions, including the white vinegars as a weapon, which you have to use to beat these enemies.

  • The materials and tools required for the job are: distilled white vinegar, towels, water, a spray bottle, baking soda and a squeegee.

1. To remove small hard water stains, use 1 cup of distilled vinegar and 1 cup of water. Pour the solution in the sink then soak a towel in the mixture. Cover the affected area with the towel and leave it to sit for about 15 minutes. This will loosen the hard water on the surface. Then, wipe clean with a clean, dry towel. If you do not achieve the desired results repeat the procedure, leaving the towel on the affected area for a longer period.

2. Sometimes, you face stains, which cannot be removed with a solution of water and white vinegar. For these difficult spots you will need to work harder. Make a paste of baking soda and distilled white vinegar. Then, rub it onto the spot, using a towel. Leave for 15 minutes then wipe off. This should help you to get rid of the whole or most of the spot. Repeat the procedure to completely remove the hard water stain.

3. For larger hard water stains, professional London cleaners advise you to use a solution of ½ distilled white vinegar and ½ water. Pour the solution in a spray bottle. Soak a cloth with the mixture. Then, spray the mixture on the effected area and wipe off with the cloth. This works very effectively on glass surfaces. The last step is to spray the glass again and let it sit for 15 minutes. Use a squeegee to remove the leftovers of hard water. Then, clean the surface with water to remove the strong smell of white vinegar from the room.
