How to Apply Your Lace Wig
Getting a suitable lace wig for your facial appearance is important. In addition, you must understand your style, your head size and more; therefore it is suggested that you consult a professional. Once you have ordered received your wig, you will notice an extra lace length around the perimeter. This extra lace is usually trimmed and must be done according to your head size. This process requires extra care; try not to cut off any of the wig hair. If you are not sure about it, simply cut the lace back a bit for the time being. Most people prefer wearing a nylon wig cap prior to wearing the actual hair wig. You can even skip it, if you feel comfortable.
It is highly suggested that you prepare your scalp by using medical grade alcohol or branded scalp protector. This helps your skin to erase any oil residue, if present. Apply it by rubbing it on your skin following the hairline since; this is the area where adhesive for attaching the lace wig will be applied. It also protects your skin from any allergic action and promotes a stronger bond.
If you decide on using wig glue, then you must carefully apply a very thin layer onto the skin and then wait for ten to fifteen minutes. This allows the glue to become “tacky”. If you need some more firmness another layer is suggested, but again waiting for some time is required. Neatly clip all your hair on the wig to ensure it does not get stuck on the glue.
Now press the wig firmly and press along the hair line onto the applied glue. At this stage, waiting for few more minutes is suggested. Little time must be given to allow the wig to bond properly onto the adhesive layer. Once the glue is dry, you will notice that there is no sticky residue and the wig stays firmly at the place without giving you any stress for wig shifting from its place.
Now you are completely ready to style up your hair. If you find some extra glue visible on the skin, use gentle alcohol to clean the area and make it more natural. Do this process very carefully and take care not to reach very closer to the hair line. If accidentally you erase the glue along the hairline, you will need to reapply the glue and then restyle the hair for a complete and successful application of your cheap lace wig.
