Starcraft 2 Protoss Guide – Simple Ways For You To Win
When you’re talking about Protoss in Starcraft 2, it is hard to not talk about their superior technology. They control pys powers which allow them to generate a protective force shield around you their units, as well as warping in units from across the world onto the battlefield. Another benefit of the Protoss is their ability to virtually up.to any environment in matters of minutes.
In Starcraft 2 the Terran must commit a SCV while building their structures and the Zerg must sacrifice a Drone to evolve a structure. Protoss has the special ability to literally warp in their buildings or structures. This is mainly because that for most part Protoss has the longest build time as well as the most expensive structures and units in the game. Which is also one of the biggest downfall of the Protoss race, but not to worry this issue is also what we are going to discuss with our first tip of the guide.
The Enchanting Chrono Boost
There is a special magical button with every Nexus call the Chrono Boost. This special ability allows you to drastically decrease the amount of time that is required for their structures, units, and their research. And because of what this ability can do almost, actually every Protoss build requires the use of it. Builds such as early expansion builds which focuses on getting an economical advantage uses Chrono Boost on the Nexus to get out more Probes faster.
Other builds like the 4 Warpgate Rush uses Chrono Boost on the Cybernetics Core to reduce the research time of having the Warpgate ability. Without it, you won’t get your Warp Gate tech fast enough to make the rush worth it. Additionally by using the Chrono Boost on the Warpgates itself you can produce more units faster. This is because the Chrono Boost reduces the amount of cool down time in between every warp in, which allows you to get more units faster to defend against any early rushs.
Now that we have discussed the macro aspect of Protoss strategies, the next tip is about Protoss Micro Management.
Protoss Micro Management
Categorizing all your units into various of groups is what a good Protoss player should do. Let’s say you have a bunch of Zealots and Stalkers which are attackers then group them together, and then group a few sentries together in another group.
The idea is to have your attackers in the front to protect your support unit so they can use their special abilities such as Guardian Shield. Managing your units or groups this way will allow you to move your entire army forward without having to worry about losing all your support units. This is pretty much all the micromanagement you’ll new as a beginner Protoss player, and of course there are more but it’s not something you need to worry about right now.
